Introduction by Jack Harrison, President
 |
Over the many years that AAA
Guaranteed On-Time Limousine Service has been in operation, we have received hundreds of
letters of appreciation and thanks from our clients... far too many to post on this
Testimonial page. As we began putting this web site together, my son, Matthew,
was sifting through stacks of letters trying to gather the best comments that would be of
interest to our readers. It was very late in the evening when I received a call from
Matthew telling me that he had found a "treasure." It was a rather lengthy
editorial from the Hunterdon Review newspaper.

"Dad, I realize that this article is far too lengthy
to post on an entire web page, but I believe that it summarizes how well our Limousine
Company is able to fulfill the needs of our clients, even under the worst possible
conditions."
The following are excerpts from that article
appearing in the March 17, 1993 edition of the Hunterdon Review: "Blizzard
'93... my spring vacation in Newark." By J.J. Drautman, Staff Writer.
"Thanks to the Blizzard of '93, I had the opportunity to
experience the breakdown of virtually every common mode of transportation except Jack
Harrison's limousine company, AAA Guaranteed On-Time Limousine Service. As
advertised, Jack got me to the airport on time on Saturday morning, and returning to
Newark International to take me home thirty one frustration-filled hours later.
Departing from an area expecting a blizzard seemed to be a great idea so I took off for
Newark when Jack arrived at my home. He had little trouble negotiating the
highway. The same could not be said for others. Cellular One provides free
911 service to the many drivers who use it, and Jack called in three times to notify
police of motorists we passed who had skidded into snow banks. Despite the already
awful conditions, I was delivered to the departure terminal exactly on time. Jack
waited while I was sure flight 583 had not been canceled.
By that time, 9 a.m. on Saturday, the status screens were
filled with "canceled," but valiant flight 583 was still on time and waiting at
the gate eager to soar into the soup. We could still see it outside, deiced and
ready, at 10:30. The aircraft was there, but its crew wasn't. I offered to
pilot it, but no one seemed impressed with my Piper Cub and Microsoft Flight Simulator
experience."
After a most eventful "vacation" which
left him snowbound in a Newark Hotel, (all the time still hoping to be able to take off
for his scheduled trip), the author finally returned to the Newark Airport terminal on the
day he was supposed to arrive from his holiday trip to some tropical island.
"Checking ahead, I found that Newark was indeed open.
But, because other airports had been closed and some still were, a certain shortage
of planes, crews and such stuff existed. I met a woman from south Jersey who had
tried to reach Philadelphia's airport. It was open as she had been told before
leaving home. But the police had closed all the roads. So she, nor anyone else
could get there. She drove to Newark instead, finding it reachable with difficulty,
open as advertised, but with virtually nothing flying.
I watched all the stranded college kids enjoying their spring
break, and some baseball teams heading south for tournaments and the like. One group
of youths was camping on a baggage carousel. They had discovered its top is
carpeted, making it one of the softest surfaces in the airport. Others were playing
cards and a group of cheerleaders was practicing. I even saw a student
studying.
I called Clinton to find out if faithful Jack was really
coming. He was. His arrival was scheduled for 2:30 p.m., although I confess
that I had my doubts considering the condition of the roads. I remained in the upper
area chatting with all my new acquaintances about where the night had been spent, how they
got there, and when or if they expected to reach their destinations. Somebody said
that another storm was coming on Wednesday. I didn't want to hear that.
At 2:20 I ventured down into the frigid arrivals region.
At precisely 2:30, Jack walked in the door. An hour later I was home."
